Jerome Higgs, PT, DPT, PHD - President/CEO
Dr. Jerome Higgs holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Molecular and Cellular Pathology. With over 14 years of experience in patient care, Dr. Higgs is committed to providing access to healthcare services for minority, underserved, and under-represented communities. Under his leadership, PATHCS is dedicated to empowering clients to take charge of their health and wellbeing and building productive relationships within the communities it serves.
Beth Whitehead PT,MPH
Beth Whitehead holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and is a part of our Physical Therapy practice at PATHCS, which currently serves 10 locations in south Alabama. Our practice aligns with the vision of the American Physical Therapy Association, which aims to transform society by optimizing the movement system to improve the human experience. We collaborate with other healthcare providers to perform medical screening and differential diagnosis within the neuromusculoskeletal system. Once other causes are ruled out, we help clients regain their ability and encourage them to maintain healthy lifestyles. At PATHCS, we are committed to providing access to healthcare services and empowering our clients to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
Carmen Capó Lugo, PHD
Dr. Carmen Capó Lugo is a PhD in Neuroscience from Northwestern University and serves as the Department Chair of Physical Therapy at Universidad Ana G. Méndez. With extensive knowledge and expertise in neuroscience, Dr. Capó Lugo is committed to advancing the field of physical therapy and providing access to healthcare services for underserved communities. As the Department Chair of Physical Therapy at PATHCS, she plays an integral role in guiding our organization towards achieving our mission of providing quality healthcare services to minority, underserved, and under-represented groups.
Barbara Tschoepe, PHD, DPT
Dr. Barbara Tschoepe is an experienced academic leader in health science graduate education, recognized for her leadership and background in the development and growth of Doctor of Physical Therapy Education and post-professional doctoral programs. She holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and Administration with a cognate in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Regis University. Dr. Tschoepe teaches and consults in leadership development, faculty development, curriculum, and program assessment within physical therapy and health sciences. She has expertise in CAPTE preparation and self-study support and strong clinical expertise in the movement system with a specialty in postural control, walking, running dysfunctions, and the health and wellness of individuals with a variety of neuromusculoskeletal challenges and long-term conditions. As a member of the PATHCS team, Dr. Tschoepe is dedicated to providing access to healthcare services and empowering our clients to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
Dean Clark, CSM, CSPO, PMC, SPM,- Chief Technology Officer
Dean Clark is the Chief Technology Officer at PATHCS, bringing a wealth of experience in program management and technology. As a Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner, and Certified Program Manager, he is committed to leveraging his expertise to drive innovation and efficiency at PATHCS. With eight years of experience as a medivac pilot, Dean also has a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and the challenges faced by underserved communities. His experience in program management for small and large programs alike enables him to provide strategic leadership to the PATHCS team. As the Chief Technology Officer, Dean is dedicated to utilizing technology to provide access to healthcare services and empower clients to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
